“Our story begins with a distinct taste for tea and a passion for great Pakistani food.”

We were first-generation Pakistani Americans and avid tea drinkers, living on the east coast. For us, like many other cultures, food represented an intricate part of our identity which we loved to celebrate. We often made a day of exploring various Pakistani restaurants, curious and excited to see what each had to offer, hoping to find our favorite spot.

After months of searching and even traveling far north into Canada, we were met with disappointment. Sometimes it was the chai itself, other times the food lacked authentic flavors; and occasionally, it was just the ambiance of a restaurant. Something was missing. We realized that they would not find the Pakistani culinary experience we craved, in the U.S. We needed to go to Pakistan. So, co-founders Sofhia and Saba flew to Pakistan to discover for themselves exactly what was missing.

How we helped tell their story
